ForHumanity Europe announced its European Risk Management AI Policy Accelerator, one of nine planned modules aimed at developing and assessing compliance with the EU AI Act (EU) 2024/1689 and standards from CEN/CENELEC JTC 21. The AI Policy Accelerator is intended for organizations needing to adhere to the EU AI Act, particularly those integrating AI within high-risk systems. ABBYY is the first AI firm to submit its well-known Process AI and Document AI documentation for assessment within this framework, aiming to demonstrate high compliance with stringent EU risk management criteria.
The evaluation will be conducted by a community comprising academics, practitioners, audit firms, and notified bodies. Upon completion, ABBYY and ForHumanity’s volunteers will have collaboratively produced compliance materials aligned with Article 9 of (EU) 2024:1689. Additionally, ForHumanity will produce a public report detailing ABBYY’s adherence to the EU AI Act, including the review methodologies employed throughout the process.
Executives from both organizations expressed their commitment to transparency and collaboration in achieving compliance. Ryan Carrier, President of ForHumanity Europe, emphasized the accelerator’s role in facilitating an interactive learning experience, while Ulf Persson, CEO of ABBYY, highlighted their proactive stance on demonstrating adherence to regulatory standards to their clients within the European financial services sector. The collaborative efforts aim to foster a safe and trustworthy AI environment.
