Making your account private can also prevent your posts from being used by Grok when it generates public responses. For now, X provides a way for users to keep Grok from using their data. However, X’s default is to allow Grok access to all user data. Therefore, you must opt-out to protect your direct data. In any case, it is likely your indirect data is not protected. For example, if an unprotected account reposts your information, then it is no longer considered your data, and it is likely that Grok will feast on it! It is also unclear if Grok’s retraining includes forgetting your former incorporated data if you opt-out today.
